Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’

Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ is an exceptional tropical houseplant admired for its spectacular variegated foliage. Its glossy, heart-shaped leaves combine deep green, burgundy, pale pink, cream and marbled white tones, creating a unique pattern on every new leaf.

Compared with the classic Pink Princess, this variety is known for its lighter, more extensively marbled colouring. The contrast between dark foliage and soft pastel variegation gives the plant an elegant and luxurious appearance, making it a true centrepiece in any carefully curated indoor plant collection.

Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ has a climbing growth habit and gradually produces longer stems as it matures. Providing a moss pole or another suitable support helps the plant grow upright, develop larger leaves and display its colourful foliage beautifully.

Light

Place Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ in bright, indirect light. Plenty of filtered light helps the plant maintain its colourful variegation and supports healthy, balanced growth.

Avoid intense direct sunlight, which may scorch the pale sections of the leaves. Very low light can slow growth and may cause new foliage to develop with less pink, cream or white colouring.

A suitable grow light can be used when natural light is insufficient, especially during the darker months.

Watering

Water when the upper layer of the substrate feels dry. The soil should remain lightly moist during active growth, but it should never be permanently wet or waterlogged.

Water thoroughly and allow all excess moisture to drain from the pot. Overwatering may cause yellow leaves, soft stems and root rot, while prolonged dryness can lead to drooping foliage and brown leaf edges.

Reduce watering during autumn and winter when the plant grows more slowly.

Humidity

Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ appreciates moderate to high humidity. Increased humidity can support healthy leaf development and help prevent the pale variegated sections from developing dry, brown edges.

Keep the plant away from radiators, heaters, cold drafts and strong air-conditioning. A humidifier or grouping the plant with other tropical houseplants can help create more suitable conditions.

Temperature

The ideal temperature is approximately 18–27 °C. Warm and stable indoor conditions encourage healthy growth and regular production of new leaves.

Protect the plant from sudden temperature changes, cold windows and prolonged exposure to temperatures below 15 °C.

Soil and Fertilising

Use a light, airy and well-draining substrate suitable for tropical aroids. A mixture containing houseplant soil, coconut fibre, perlite and orchid bark provides a good balance of moisture retention, drainage and airflow around the roots.

Feed with a diluted, balanced houseplant fertiliser approximately once every three to four weeks during spring and summer. Reduce or stop fertilising during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows down.

Avoid excessive fertilising, as this may damage the roots and cause brown leaf edges.

Growth and Support

Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ is a climbing plant that benefits from a moss pole, wooden plank or trellis. A suitable support encourages more organised growth and may help the plant produce larger, more mature leaves.

Secure the stems gently without tying them too tightly. Rotate the pot occasionally so that all sides receive even light and the plant develops a balanced shape.

Long or uneven stems can be trimmed with clean tools. However, avoid removing too much growth at once, especially from a young plant.

Maintaining the Variegation

The amount and pattern of variegation can vary naturally from leaf to leaf. Some leaves may contain large pale sections, while others may be predominantly green or burgundy.

Bright, indirect light supports attractive colouring, but the appearance of each new leaf cannot be guaranteed. If the plant begins producing only green foliage, pruning back to a stem section with visible variegation may encourage more colourful growth.

Leaves with extensive white or pale pink colouring contain less chlorophyll and may grow more slowly or develop brown areas more easily. This is a natural characteristic of highly variegated plants.

Important Information

Philodendron ‘Pink Princess Marble’ contains calcium oxalate crystals and should not be consumed. Keep it away from children and pets that may chew its leaves or stems.

Each plant is naturally unique. Its height, fullness, leaf shape and amount of pink, cream, white or green variegation may differ from the product photographs. New leaves may also change in colour as they mature.
